[1] 1850, July 29, to John Kenyon [2 p.].--Describes the poor state of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's health resulting from a recent miscarriage. [2] 1861, February 26, Rome, to Thornton Leigh Hunt [2 p.].--Regrets he possesses only one letter written by Leigh Hunt. His friend, Mr. Story, possesses "many letters ... of a particularly interesting nature," relating to assistance offered by "an American, a Mr. Adams." [3] 1883, August 6, London, to Miss E. H. Hickey, Buckinghamshire [1 l. with envelope].--Browning explains the meaning of the Roman "genius" as applied to the character of Strafford. [4] 1886, November 27, Paddington, England, to Edward Dowden, Dublin [2 p. with envelope].--Thanks him for the gift of his books.
